In the 17th minute, Gustavo Garcia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kids Graça fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 28th minute, Vitinho Fernandes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaviões Futebol Clube's Tião Galvão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo da Rocha in the 29th minute of play. José Paulo Couto was a little too slow when Luiz Fabiano de Almeida got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 1-3. If Paulinho Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Paulo Couto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 51 played minutes Gaviões Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cido Luz. José Paulo Couto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano de Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tião Galvão was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Delfim Velasco capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gaviões Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kids Graça the free kick. Paulinho Arantes hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Delfim Velasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lino Meirelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Tião Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaviões Futebol Clube made a substitution. Ricardinho Chaves replaced Cido Luz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Garcia in the 73rd minute of play forced Gaviões Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tião Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Paulo Couto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 74th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the match, Gaviões Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Tião Galvão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lino Meirelles. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
