Arabela's Cipriano Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 9th minute of play. With his leg Cipriano Catarinense managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Gaviões Futebol Clube's Luiz Fabiano de Almeida fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Cipriano Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Álvaro Souza hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Tião Galvão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from André Jacinto went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers André Jacinto in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tião Galvão saved Gaviões Futebol Clube from getting behind. In the 26th match minute, Gaviões Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Arantes to maneuver through the defense. After 27 played minutes, Arabela's Fábio Recife shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tião Galvão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Arabela reached it. When Victor Simões came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Gaviões Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Simões couldn't finish the play. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Catarinense having to interfere. Victor Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Cipriano Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Válter Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Luiz Fabiano de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Arabela's goalkeeper Cipriano Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Victor Simões. Tião Galvão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luiz Guilherme Diniz went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 42nd match minute, Arabela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Válter Furtado to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes of play, Gaviões Futebol Clube's Paulinho Arantes made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cipriano Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Guilherme Diniz to make the kick off. If Luiz Fabiano de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Gaviões Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 70th match minute when Gaviões Futebol Clube's Luiz Fabiano de Almeida looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gaviões Futebol Clube made a substitution. Ricardinho Chaves replaced Cido Luz. Cipriano Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fabiano de Almeida in the 79th minute of the match. The supporters of Arabela booed when Gaviões Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wesley de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes in the game, Luiz Fabiano de Almeida dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Luiz Fabiano de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cipriano Catarinense having to interfere. Arabela were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Gaviões Futebol Clube's much stronger midfield.
