In the 4th match minute, Boot FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Jerônimo Cerezo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calderao's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerônimo Cerezo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Délio das Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinho Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinho Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Claudinho Miranda hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Calderao's goalkeeper Ronald Goliáš had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomás Vergílio. A collision led to Calderao getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Sandu Costandin hit a great ball. Ronald Goliáš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio da Silveira in the 20th minute of the match. Délio das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Calderao's goal looked a bit too open when Cássio da Silveira came free, but Ronald Goliáš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flávio Damião's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio das Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to Boot FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Dedê Custódio hit a great ball. Délio das Neves came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Calderao's Flávio Damião. But to his dismay, Flávio Damião quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Jerônimo Cerezo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Délio das Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Eliézer Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliézer Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Calderao's Eliézer Vargas got a free kick in the 38th minute. Jerônimo Cerezo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Délio das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Calderao's Flávio Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Délio das Neves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luiz Fábio de Moraes made in the 45th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Enrique Marinho however managed to control. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Cássio da Silveira made the kick off in the second half. Délio das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerônimo Cerezo in the 57th minute of the match. If Flávio Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Calderao's Tiaguinho Linares seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tiaguinho Linares the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Calderao protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tiaguinho Linares had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 61 played minutes Calderao got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Linares. The supporters of Boot FC booed when Calderao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calderao's Flávio Damião got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomás Vergílio's late challenge caught a Calderao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomás Vergílio helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes Boot FC got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Vergílio. After some careless play in the Boot FC defense, Flávio Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Délio das Neves. The Boot FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Délio das Neves should have stopped the shot. 74 minutes into the game, one of Calderao:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hugon Mierzwa charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugon Mierzwa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Calderao's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
