They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The supporters of Independente FC booed when Everest Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aílton de Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Carlos Germano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristobal Orsini during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Everest Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Cristobal Orsini. Luiz Guilherme Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Germano having to interfere. Jaime Quintal struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Carlos Germano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independente FC. In the 69th minute Thomás Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Germano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Luiz Guilherme Mendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 72 played minutes Everest Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Pedrinho Britto. Independente FC's Thomás Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Thomás Ramalho made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Germano. Everest Futebol Clube's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jaime Quintal in the 96th minute of play forced Everest Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Carlos Germano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Independente FC fully deserved thier win.
