In the 9th minute Iuri de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulão Breckenfeld came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Brasas's Carlos Eduardo Tasso. But to his dismay, Carlos Eduardo Tasso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Iuri de Godoy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulão Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iuri de Godoy in the 26th minute of the match. When Zé Roberto Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Afligidos's protests and gave Zé Roberto Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Afligidos getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Zé Roberto Aguiar hit a great ball. Doni Pimenta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dário Travassos went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After 38 played minutes Brasas got a freekick which was hit by Iuri de Godoy. After having played for 39 minutes, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Afligidos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Roberto Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the game, Carlos Alberto Araújo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Afligidos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brasas the free kick. The supporters of Brasas booed when Afligidos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Brasas's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Aguiar came free, but Doni Pimenta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goal looked a bit too open when Iuri de Godoy came free, but Paulão Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

In the 52nd minute, Luís Fábio Quaresma ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulão Breckenfeld was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Afligidos's Paulão Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fábio Quaresma in the 60th minute of play. With a little luck, Afligidos's Paulão Breckenfeld got control of the ball when Carlos Eduardo Tasso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernani Palmeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Paulão Breckenfeld made a huge save. In the 65th minute Iuri de Godoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Paulão Breckenfeld successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Eduardo Tasso in the 68th minute of play forced Afligidos's goalkeeper Paulão Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulão Breckenfeld showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fábio Quaresma in the 74th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goalkeeper Paulão Breckenfeld had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernani Palmeira. Doni Pimenta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Travassos in the 83rd minute of play. After 85 minutes of play, Brasas's Ernani Palmeira made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulão Breckenfeld was left in no man's land by his defense there! Iuri de Godoy might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulão Breckenfeld. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iuri de Godoy ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulão Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iuri de Godoy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kléberson Carioca hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The Afligidos fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Brasas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
