Spectators: 7425 (Terracing: 5607, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 100) ISKAR's Richard Meirelles started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulão Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfredo Matos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Afligidos's Benjamin Motta got a free kick in the 10th minute. After 14 played minutes Afligidos got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Motta. In the 15th minute of the match Aloísio Alcântara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulão Breckenfeld showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 18th minute Richard Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulão Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário Travassos got free with Sandrinho Lago in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, ISKAR's Vítor Figueiredo got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar made a precise shot to the right of Sandrinho Lago. ISKAR's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Afligidos's Paulão Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredo Matos in the 27th minute of play. After 28 played minutes ISKAR got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Alcântara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Roberto Aguiar in the 29th minute of play forced ISKAR's goalkeeper Sandrinho Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, ISKAR's Sandrinho Lago got control of the ball when Dário Travassos tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Meirelles in the 33rd minute of play forced Afligidos's goalkeeper Paulão Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 34th minute of play forced ISKAR's goalkeeper Sandrinho Lago to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes Afligidos got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Aguiar. 41 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Meirelles came free, but Paulão Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Lago made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Carlos Alberto Araújo sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Richard Meirelles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulão Breckenfeld was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

A collision led to Afligidos getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Marcinho Pena hit a great ball. Sandrinho Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Dário Travassos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 67 played minutes Afligidos got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Aguiar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Richard Meirelles in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulão Breckenfeld saved Afligidos from getting behind. Sandrinho Lago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Travassos in the 78th minute of play. Dadá Arósio hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Oséias Secco took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sandrinho Lago. Sandrinho Lago dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Richard Meirelles sped through Afligidos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulão Breckenfeld. Sandrinho Lago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
