Paulão Breckenfeld didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tostão Arruda went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Tostão Arruda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Afligidos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mojeiro were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tostão Arruda made a kick off. Paulão Breckenfeld made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Arruda in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Mojeiro's Tiaguinho Nascimento ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paulão Breckenfeld. Paulão Breckenfeld yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Sandro Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Vítor Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Paulão Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vítor Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Afligidos's goal looked a bit too open when Tostão Arruda came free, but Paulão Breckenfeld reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulão Breckenfeld was a little too slow when Tostão Arruda got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 71st minute. The score was now 1-5. In the 77th minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vítor Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Paulão Breckenfeld made a huge save. Doni Diniz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Paulão Breckenfeld when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Paulão Breckenfeld made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Vítor Seco sent off a good shot on target. Zé Roberto Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Dário Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Afligidos's supporters rose to their feet, but Dário Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The Mojeiro supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match.
