Elano Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matheus Vaz in the 10th minute of the match. After 18 minutes, Nando Arantes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jucatan and the Jaraqui players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nando Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Matheus Vaz charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matheus Vaz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 19th match minute, Jaraqui was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matheus Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Nando Arantes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute Luís Eduardo Massa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Jaraqui getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Betinho Siqueira hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabriel Souza to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Jucatan's Yuri Ceresso seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Yuri Ceresso the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Jucatan protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Yuri Ceresso had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 54 played minutes Jucatan got a freekick which was hit by Yuri Ceresso. Gabriel Souza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano de Azevedo having to interfere. Kaká Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kaká Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Jucatan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kaká Queiroz couldn't finish the play. If Nando Arantes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. José Carlos Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Elano Maia made a huge save. Nando Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fabiano de Azevedo having to interfere. Chants of Jaraqui echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Jucatan had held the ball for most of the match.
