Squadra Campeira's supporters rose to their feet, but Joélson Paulista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Werner Gjettermann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 5th minute, Joélson Paulista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Werner Gjettermann was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. João Adolfo Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Gustavo Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Silas Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Adolfo Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Spinach the Sailor's goal looked a bit too open when Joélson Paulista came free, but Werner Gjettermann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute, Joélson Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paulo José Magalhães hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Silas Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Adolfo Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hubert Van Cleynenbreugel charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Werner Gjettermann came out of the goal and Felipe Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute Joélson Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Werner Gjettermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Spinach the Sailor's Adelino Moraes got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute, Joélson Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 38 minutes into the game, Joélson Paulista recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Werner Gjettermann. Joélson Paulista showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 42nd minute Joélson Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Werner Gjettermann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joélson Paulista to make the kick off. The supporters of Squadra Campeira booed when Spinach the Sailor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enéas Velloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joélson Paulista in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Gjettermann saved Spinach the Sailor from getting behind. Werner Gjettermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson Paulista in the 59th minute of the match. Squadra Campeira's Joélson Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joélson Paulista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Werner Gjettermann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Joélson Paulista notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Spinach the Sailor's Werner Gjettermann. Werner Gjettermann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Squadra Campeira's Joélson Paulista in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Spinach the Sailor's goalie prevented a goal. Joélson Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Gjettermann having to interfere. Werner Gjettermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joélson Paulista in the 80th minute of the match. João Adolfo Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Gustavo Urbano in the 90th minute of play. Joélson Paulista's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Werner Gjettermann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Squadra Campeira fully deserved thier win.
