Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cássio Arruda came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Vasco Da Gama's Elano Queiroz. But to his dismay, Elano Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Cássio Arruda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elano Queiroz went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 14th minute, Vasco Da Gama's Nildo de Mendonça ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cássio Arruda. Cássio Arruda yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Cássio Arruda didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 18th minute, which inside left pole to 5-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Vasco Da Gama's Edgard Marinho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cássio Arruda. That made the score 6-0 after 21 minutes of play. In the 26th minute, Josué Freire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cássio Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Marinho in the 29th minute of the match. Vicenzi's Cássio Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Vicenzi from getting a goal against them. Vicenzi's Cássio Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Francisco Dias in the 40th minute of play. Cássio Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Marinho in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dênis Barreto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Vicenzi getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Válter Abreu hit a great ball. Cássio Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Francisco Dias in the 60th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the game, Vasco Da Gama's Edgard Marinho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cássio Arruda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Cássio Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didi de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didi de Lima in the 74th minute of play forced Vicenzi's goalkeeper Cássio Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vicenzi were furious when Válter Abreu was red carded, 78 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Vasco Da Gama booed when Vicenzi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cássio Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Marinho in the 92nd minute of play. There was no doubt that Vasco Da Gama were the better team. Vasco Da Gama's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
