SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maraja the free kick. Tony de Salles scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benê Chaves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 15th match minute, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enéas Barreto to maneuver through the defense. Tony de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 27 minutes, João Pedro Palmeira made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Benê Chaves tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Betão Vergílio's late challenge caught a SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dagoberto Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Benê Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony de Salles in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Cafu Barbosa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. After 42 minutes, Tony de Salles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maraja and the SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Maraja got a freekick which was hit by Tony de Salles. In the 45th minute, Tony de Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA's Luizão Bueno got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Maraja were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tony de Salles to strike the kick off in the second half. Benê Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tony de Salles in the 52nd minute of the match. When João Pedro Palmeira came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Maraja fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Pedro Palmeira couldn't finish the play. In the 58th minute, João Pedro Palmeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony de Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Benê Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Ricardinho da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filipe Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cafu Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Enéas Barreto hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. João Pedro Palmeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benê Chaves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Benê Chaves made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Pedro Palmeira in the 72nd minute. 77 minutes into the match, Edgar Lago had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filipe Netto. Maraja's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Lago was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. If João Pedro Palmeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Pedro Palmeira took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benê Chaves. Benê Chaves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Edgar Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Netto having to interfere. Albertinho Vasconcelos lost his temper 95 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The SPORT CLUB CAPIXABA supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Maraja's performance. The match ended with a win for Maraja.
