The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Beberibe's Maurinho Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Fontes in the 5th minute of play. In the 6th minute of the match Martelão FC got a corner. Beberibe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jorginho Saldanha ran over to the corner to take the kick. Jorginho Saldanha made a great header on Martelão FC's corner, it was just that Beberibe's Maurinho Sarmento managed to reach the ball for a save. Dorival Fontes scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Maurinho Sarmento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Beberibe's zone, Dorival Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurinho Sarmento came out of the goal and Dorival Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorginho Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 minutes of play, Martelão FC's Dorival Fontes made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maurinho Sarmento was left in no man's land by his defense there! Toninho Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Sarmento having to interfere. If Ricardo Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorginho Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Maurinho Sarmento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 0-5 became the score in the 29th minute when Dorival Fontes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Rubinho Botelho kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Maurinho Sarmento didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Martelão FC's Dorival Fontes shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-7 in the ordered_time% minute. Maurinho Sarmento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorginho Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Cássio Félix made the kick off in the second half. Beberibe's Maurinho Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Beberibe from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Isaltino Meira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Santos was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. 60 minutes into the game, Dorival Fontes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maurinho Sarmento. Dorival Fontes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-8. Jorginho Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Maurinho Sarmento made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Dorival Fontes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Maurinho Sarmento was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Toninho Figueiredo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Sarmento having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Jonathan Capixaba made a precise shot to the right of Maurinho Sarmento. Beberibe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-10. Maurinho Sarmento made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorginho Saldanha in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Beberibe's goal looked a bit too open when Dorival Fontes came free, but Maurinho Sarmento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martelão FC played a much better game than Beberibe and deserved their victory. The Beberibe players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
