In the 12th minute Tim Ferm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hílton de Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Ubiratan Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Hílton de Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marco Queiroz. Hílton de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Olentzaro in the 15th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Ferm in the 16th minute of play forced Ubiratan Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Hílton de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovanni Damião in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Álvaro Gerber prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Glauco Veiga was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, one of Galileia FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Galileia FC. The referee gave Ubiratan Esporte Clube a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Giovanni Damião, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Galileia FC's Álvaro Gerber. 1-1. Álvaro Gerber showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Felippe Zanette hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Robinho Mineiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton de Sousa having to interfere. Felippe Zanette's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Álvaro Gerber read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play.

The supporters of Galileia FC booed when Ubiratan Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Olentzaro scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hílton de Sousa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Gilberto Salomone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
