Benê Aguiar was a little too slow when Manoel Zanette got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 3rd minute. The score was now 1-0. 10 minutes into the game, Hermínio Gerber cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Benê Aguiar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Meira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benê Aguiar having to interfere. When Urbano Quintyn fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponta da Praia FC's protests and gave Urbano Quintyn a yellow card for diving instead. Dino Maciel was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. If Hermínio Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute of the match, Carlos Meira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benê Aguiar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 34th match minute, Ponta da Praia FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manoel Zanette to maneuver through the defense. The free kick in the 35th minute by Manoel Zanette was well hit, but to his irritation, it went to the left of the post instead of in the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Meira in the 36th minute of play forced Delta FC's goalkeeper Benê Aguiar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benê Aguiar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hermínio Gerber's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Manoel Zanette charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manoel Zanette the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Delta FC booed when Ponta da Praia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manoel Zanette didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Meira struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Benê Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponta da Praia FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Manoel Zanette got free with Benê Aguiar in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Carlos Meira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

54 minutes into the game, Ponta da Praia FC's Hermínio Quirino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benê Aguiar made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Reynaldo Paiva hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Manoel Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Delta FC defense, Manoel Zanette kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Aguiar. The Delta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Aguiar should have stopped the shot. After 70 minutes of play, Ponta da Praia FC's Carlos Meira made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benê Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ponta da Praia FC's Carlos Meira got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Válbson de Queiroz during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Delta FC's Iuri Dantas got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the Delta FC defense, Manoel Zanette kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Aguiar. The Delta FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Aguiar should have stopped the shot. Carlos Meira took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benê Aguiar. Benê Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. Benê Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermínio Gerber in the 89th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Carlos Meira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ponta da Praia FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-0. After 95 minutes of play, Ponta da Praia FC's Manoel Zanette made it 11-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benê Aguiar was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ponta da Praia FC fully deserved thier win.
