The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Ponta da Praia FC's Téo Bezerra threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Meira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cafu Peres took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gustavo Vides. Gustavo Vides dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Manoel Zanette dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Téo Bezerra, 1-1. Ponta da Praia FC's Wiliam Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Meira's late challenge caught a SantasticFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlos Meira helped the player get up and apologised. After 20 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Meira. When Dalmo Xavier fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SantasticFC's protests and gave Dalmo Xavier a yellow card for diving instead. Dalmo Xavier hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 25 minutes, Manoel Zanette made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. SantasticFC's Téo Bezerra tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the game, Ponta da Praia FC's Hermínio Gerber nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Téo Bezerra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 4-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Carlos Meira elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, SantasticFC's Téo Bezerra got control of the ball when Manoel Zanette tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hermínio Gerber got free with Téo Bezerra in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Manoel Zanette fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ponta da Praia FC's protests and gave Manoel Zanette a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ponta da Praia FC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Manoel Zanette hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manoel Zanette to make the kick off. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 5-1 when Hermínio Gerber sped through SantasticFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Téo Bezerra. Téo Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carlos Meira was shown his second yellow card after 69 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 70 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Meira. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermínio Quirino during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute, Hermínio Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute Hermínio Gerber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Téo Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 played minutes Ponta da Praia FC got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Santos. In the 97th minute, SantasticFC's Dalmo Xavier dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 5-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ponta da Praia FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SantasticFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
