An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Paranaense in the 6th minute of play forced Átomo -El pai do New!'s goalkeeper Albertinho Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Salgado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Ciro Barbosa when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Allan Loyola was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Nuno Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Gerson Salgados short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Ciro Barbosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cipriano Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Edgar Coutinho hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Gerson Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Átomo -El pai do New!'s Albertinho Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Brodel in the 20th minute of play. Allan Loyola charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Allan Loyola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Átomo -El pai do New! was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Loyola to maneuver through the defense. Bactéria's Álvaro Paranaense got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Álvaro Paranaense made a precise shot to the right of Albertinho Bertassi. Átomo -El pai do New!'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 30th minute, Gerson Salgado made a precise shot to the right of Ciro Barbosa. Bactéria's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 36th match minute, Bactéria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Coutinho to maneuver through the defense. Gerson Salgados short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Ciro Barbosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gerson Salgado received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ciro Barbosa came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerson Salgado slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 41st minute. In the 44th match minute, Bactéria was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Adolfo Donato to maneuver through the defense. With his leg Ciro Barbosa managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Átomo -El pai do New!'s Gerson Salgado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Bactéria's Ciro Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Salgado in the 47th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerson Salgado to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Gerson Salgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 53rd minute, Bactéria's Guilherme Brodel ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Albertinho Bertassi. Albertinho Bertassi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Álvaro Paranaense in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertinho Bertassi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gerson Salgado in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ciro Barbosa saved Bactéria from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Guilherme Brodel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerson Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Allan Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ciro Barbosa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Átomo -El pai do New!'s Zé do Valle pulled a muscle in his back after 72 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 73 minutes into the game, Arí de Carvalho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bactéria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Átomo -El pai do New! the free kick. Átomo -El pai do New!'s Walmir Fantini was substituted for Zé do Valle. Arí de Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Guilherme Brodel had several of the Átomo -El pai do New!'s defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 78 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-3 score and a disappointed Albertinho Bertassi as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 81 played minutes Átomo -El pai do New! got a freekick which was hit by Tiaguinho Figueiredo. After recieving a nice pass, Bactéria's Carlinhos Bueno tried to score from far away in the 82nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 83 minutes of play Átomo -El pai do New!'s Allan Loyola was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Bactéria booed when Átomo -El pai do New! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Allan Loyola didn't get a good kick on the ball. When João Adolfo Donato fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bactéria's protests and gave João Adolfo Donato a yellow card for diving instead. Ciro Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldinho Coelho in the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Thiago Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tostão Bastos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. João Adolfo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Barbosa having to interfere. If Jerônimo Paraense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Bactéria supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bactéria would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
