Mário Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th match minute, Turma do Funil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Alagoano to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Marcos Paulista from long distance, 14 minutes into the match, got Celso Sanches's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Celso Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcos Paulista kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Celso Sanches. That made the score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, ITUIUTABA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cafu Quintal came free, but Alessandro Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Sanches made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Zé Paulo Albuquerque sent off a good shot on target. After 33 played minutes Turma do Funil got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Simões. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Zé Paulo Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. ITUIUTABA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Paulo Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Celso Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Vargas in the 35th minute of play. Celso Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laerte Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Turma do Funil's zone, Arthur de Alcântara stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Sanches came out of the goal and Arthur de Alcântara tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Sanches made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laerte Vargas in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the game, ITUIUTABA FC's Laerte Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celso Sanches made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Laerte Vargas was the one to do the kick off. Celso Sanches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laerte Vargas in the 55th minute of play. When Frédson Peres fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Turma do Funil's protests and gave Frédson Peres a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes Turma do Funil got a freekick which was hit by Frédson Peres. Celso Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Paulista in the 63rd minute of the match. Celso Sanches came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by ITUIUTABA FC's Laerte Vargas. But to his dismay, Laerte Vargas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Arí Barbosa took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Alessandro Alvarenga to make any attempt to save it. Celso Sanches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laerte Vargas in the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute Marcos Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Celso Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 78th minute, Laerte Vargas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Sanches was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. 81 minutes into the game, ITUIUTABA FC's Laerte Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Celso Sanches made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. Celso Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arthur de Alcântara went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. Celso Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcos Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. ITUIUTABA FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
