In the 13th minute there was a penalty for ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ. Tião Braga stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Doni Ramalho. 0-2. A collision led to Umbuzeiro getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Frank Camargo hit a great ball. Doni Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juvenal Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ramiro Dante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Oswaldo Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Doni Ramalho was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Umbuzeiro's Tarcisio Azevedo got a free kick in the 30th minute. Álvaro Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Álvaro Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Umbuzeiro got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Lima. Oswaldo Porto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Doni Ramalho having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Umbuzeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Oswaldo Porto came free, but Doni Ramalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doni Ramalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Simão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Maurício Veiga fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's protests and gave Maurício Veiga a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th match minute, ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nilson Rosa to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Tião Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil do Valle was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Hudson Brodel. 48 minutes into the match, Igor Vergílio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gil do Valle. ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Vergílio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oswaldo Porto made a kick off. Felipe Simão's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Doni Ramalho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Doni Ramalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oswaldo Porto in the 69th minute. After 72 played minutes Umbuzeiro got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Lima. Gil do Valle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Camargo in the 82nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Umbuzeiro's zone, Felipe Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Doni Ramalho came out of the goal and Felipe Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doni Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Simão in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Igor Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 99 minutes, Doni Ramalho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The Umbuzeiro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ's performance. The match ended with a win for ㄈㄩㄥㄗㄙ.
