The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 minutes of play, Furia's David Souto made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celso Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Souto in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celso Sanches prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cafu Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Oswaldo Leão made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Barbosa in the 16th minute of play forced Furia's goalkeeper Oswaldo Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Furia's Oswaldo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Barbosa in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Turma do Funil's Marcos Pimenta got a free kick in the 19th minute. Celso Sanches took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodriguinho Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oswaldo Leão made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Cafu Quintal sent off a good shot on target. Turma do Funil's Celso Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Souto in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Turma do Funil getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Mário Alagoano hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Kiko Alvarenga's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Sanches was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Celso Sanches came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Furia's David Souto. But to his dismay, David Souto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Celso Sanches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Souto, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Rodriguinho Varela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Furia's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodriguinho Varela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Sanches breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 59th match minute, Turma do Funil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arí Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodriguinho Varela got free with Celso Sanches in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adelino Gerber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Turma do Funil getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jardel Cardozo hit a great ball. Oswaldo Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Barbosa in the 74th minute of play. Turma do Funil's Celso Sanches proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Turma do Funil from getting a goal against them. Adelino Gerber's late challenge caught a Furia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adelino Gerber helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Adelino Gerber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Rodriguinho Varela could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Celso Sanches however easily saved by the left post. Furia's Oswaldo Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Barbosa in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Furia's Rodriguinho Varela sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Sanches narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Turma do Funil's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Rodriguinho Varela scored to the left of an out of position Celso Sanches, making the score, 0-5. Celso Sanches didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgard Vides went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score.
