Doni Mangueira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alessandro Neiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Doni Mangueira made a huge save. Rubens Pernambucano succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 21st playminute. A hard shot 25 in the game by Dedé Meira from a close distance when the talented Doni Mangueira managed to make a qualified save. Maracaja's players were relieved. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracaja's goalkeeper Doni Mangueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 31 minutes into the game, Alessandro Neiva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celsinho Mattos to strike the kick off in the second half. Dário Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almir Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. If Celsinho Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the E.C Foz Do Iguaçu players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
