With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laerte Vargas in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Garcia saved Cachaça EC from getting behind. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cachaça EC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcos Paulista was slow to take the kick. During this time ITUIUTABA FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led ITUIUTABA FC's Marcos Paulista to fire away a dangerous shot which Anselmo Garcia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luiz Fonseca scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alessandro Alvarenga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Laerte Vargas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Anselmo Garcia 29 minutes into the match. Luiz Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Alessandro Alvarenga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cachaça EC. In the 38th minute Laerte Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Garcia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Garcia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Marcos Paulista, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 42 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Anselmo Garcia was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Alessandro Alvarenga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otávio Prestes in the 45th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laerte Vargas made a kick off. After a rather tough play, ITUIUTABA FC's Zé Paulo Albuquerque got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Laerte Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59thth minute of the game Laerte Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cachaça EC's Anselmo Garcia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Egídio Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. After 64 minutes of play, ITUIUTABA FC's Marcos Paulista made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anselmo Garcia was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Franklin Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Cachaça EC's Egídio Fonseca seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egídio Fonseca the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cachaça EC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egídio Fonseca had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 80 minutes into the match, Otávio Prestes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alessandro Alvarenga. ITUIUTABA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otávio Prestes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. When Arthur de Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ITUIUTABA FC's protests and gave Arthur de Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cachaça EC booed when ITUIUTABA FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arthur de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otávio Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Alessandro Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Paulo Albuquerque hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. There was no doubt that ITUIUTABA FC were the better team. ITUIUTABA FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
