Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Celsinho Macedo took the kick off in the first half of the match. A collision led to Paraná Clube getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Leonel Goiano hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Goiás Esporte Clube's Eugênio Tróia broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Manuel Munhoz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celsinho Macedo in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho Macedo to maneuver through the defense. In the 11thth minute of the game Celsinho Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraná Clube's Manuel Munhoz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Celsinho Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Celsinho Macedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goiás Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 20 minutes into the game, Dieguinho de Azevedo lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Christiano Marques. After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube's Leonel Goiano got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Henrik Folgerø hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Christiano Marques made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilton Duarte in the 30th minute. In the 39th minute, Celsinho Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Munhoz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Manuel Munhoz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Celsinho Macedo went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celsinho Macedo in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Manuel Munhoz prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The wind increased when Dieguinho de Azevedo made the kick off in the second half. If Dieguinho de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Goiás Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Arthur Aguiar hit a great ball. Christiano Marques came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Paraná Clube's Dieguinho de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Dieguinho de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After 64 minutes, Wilton Duarte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paraná Clube and the Goiás Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Goiás Esporte Clube booed when Paraná Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonel Goiano hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Manuel Munhoz acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Eugênio Tróia. In the 71st minute, Dieguinho de Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Wilton Duarte was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. In the 82nd match minute, Paraná Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Duarte to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 86 minutes, Tião de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paraná Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tião de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Celsinho Macedo in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Manuel Munhoz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Celsinho Macedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Manuel Munhoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paraná Clube's Leonel Goiano got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The Paraná Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Goiás Esporte Clube were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
