When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Luís Fernando Arruda took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Christiano Marques to make any attempt to save it. Goiás Esporte Clube's Christiano Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fernando Arruda in the 92nd minute of play. Vivaldo Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Goiás Esporte Clube lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
