The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Nuno Botelho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 8th minute Maicon Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Tande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Botelho in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Tande saved Dark Team from getting behind. In the 14th minute, Raphael Trigo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 15thth minute of the game Nuno Botelho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dark Team's Manuel Tande was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raphael Trigo in the 16th minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Sao Paulo CE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernani Fontes to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sao Paulo CE booed when Dark Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th match minute, Dark Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateus Macedo to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Tande came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Sao Paulo CE's Nuno Botelho. But to his dismay, Nuno Botelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fábio Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sao Paulo CE's zone, Wanderson Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Renan Cavalcante came out of the goal and Wanderson Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Caetano Toscano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nuno Botelho struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Manuel Tande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sao Paulo CE. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dark Team's goalkeeper Manuel Tande, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 46th minute, Raí Batista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Nuno Botelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manuel Tande was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Renan Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Macedo in the 54th minute of the match. Wanderson Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Renan Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wanderson Araújo in the 57th minute of play forced Sao Paulo CE's goalkeeper Renan Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dark Team's Manuel Tande proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Dark Team from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the match, Raphael Trigo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Tande. Dark Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raphael Trigo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After having played for 65 minutes, Raphael Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sao Paulo CE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raphael Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th match minute, Sao Paulo CE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maicon Salles to maneuver through the defense. If Wanderson Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wanderson Araújo came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Dark Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wanderson Araújo couldn't finish the play. In the 78th minute, Caetano Toscano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Caetano Toscano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renan Cavalcante having to interfere. The supporters of Sao Paulo CE booed when Dark Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilson Ramalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guto Arce might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manuel Tande. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guto Arce ran back to his position shaking his head. If Guto Arce had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sao Paulo CE's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
