Sao Paulo CE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diamentina FC the free kick. Nuno Botelho hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Nuno Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Oscar Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Nuno Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sao Paulo CE's supporters rose to their feet, but Nuno Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 23 minutes into the match, Diamentina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raphael Trigo came free, but Oscar Vides reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, Sao Paulo CE's Nuno Botelho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oscar Vides narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lino Pirani charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lino Pirani the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th match minute, Diamentina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Pirani to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes Diamentina FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Paulista. In the 31st minute, Raphael Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The goalkeeper, Oscar Vides, was totally fooled by Sao Paulo CE's Bernardo de Queiroz, who 38 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Oscar Vides didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Botelho went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After having played for 45 minutes, Nuno Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sao Paulo CE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Diamentina FC's Lino Pirani got a free kick in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Paulo José Carioca made the kick off in the second half. Nuno Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Paulo José Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sao Paulo CE's Nuno Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 61 played minutes Sao Paulo CE got a freekick which was hit by Josué Matos. Lino Pirani kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Raphael Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sao Paulo CE's supporters rose to their feet, but Raphael Trigo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raphael Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Oscar Vides didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nuno Botelho went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Botelho in the 86th minute of play forced Diamentina FC's goalkeeper Oscar Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oscar Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the referee ended the match the Sao Paulo CE players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
