Internacional F.C's Geovânio Ortiz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruy de Sena in the 20th minute of play. Geovânio Ortiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho Aparecido, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After having played for 27 minutes, Ruy de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FLAMANIA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ruy de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Internacional F.C's Ramón Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 32 minutes, Percy Britto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Internacional F.C and the FLAMANIA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 32nd match minute, Internacional F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Percy Britto to maneuver through the defense. In a very dangerous position, a player in Internacional F.C fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 60th minute. Penalty! 66 minutes into the match, Internacional F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy de Sena came free, but Geovânio Ortiz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edinho Aparecido fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovânio Ortiz having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Lucas Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artur Almeida, 79 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
