The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rubens Travassos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Ismael de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kauã Quintal in the 12th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adelino Andrade during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rap é o Som booed when Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes, Rap é o Som's Augusto Trevisan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ismael de Barros came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rap é o Som reached it. Kauã Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ismael de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Augusto Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Ronaldinho Cavalcante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Augusto Trevisan sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Corinthians's Ismael de Barros didn't even have to move. In the 30th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldinho Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Ismael de Barros came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Rap é o Som's Kauã Quintal. But to his dismay, Kauã Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Rubens Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Cerezo in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Cerezo in the 45th minute of play forced Rap é o Som's goalkeeper Rubens Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 48 minutes had been played when some careless play by Rap é o Som's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luciano Cerezo was slow to take the kick. During this time Corinthians's players had a chance to rest. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Rubens Travassos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rubens Travassos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basílio Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Durval Miranda kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 65th minute Adelino Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, Corinthians's Durval Miranda dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Rubens Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Andrade in the 74th minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, Rap é o Som's goalkeeper Rubens Travassos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Cerezo. When Ronaldinho Custódio fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rap é o Som's protests and gave Ronaldinho Custódio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th minute, Ronaldinho Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rap é o Som's Rubens Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Andrade in the 85th minute of play. Rubens Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Andrade in the 86th minute of play. Adelino Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Rubens Travassos made a huge save. Rubens Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Andrade in the 93rd minute of the match. 95 minutes into the game, Luciano Cerezo lined in a short shot 1-6 behind a frustrated Rubens Travassos. When the match was over Corinthians could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rap é o Som throughout the match.
