Emerson Severo came out of the goal and Aírton da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Aírton da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emerson Severo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Recife Pe booed when Malvadeza Mode ON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válter Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recife Pe's goalkeeper Tomás Berger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Malvadeza Mode ON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wágner Penha to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th match minute, Recife Pe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aírton da Costa to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Marcelo Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Emerson Severo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aírton da Costa to make the kick off. Marcelo Pereira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-5 in the 79th playminute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelo Pereira got free with Emerson Severo in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Recife Pe's Aírton da Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Emerson Severo. That made the score 0-6 after 83 minutes of play. If Aírton da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 91 in the game by Marcelo Pereira from a close distance when the talented Emerson Severo managed to make a qualified save. Malvadeza Mode ON's players were relieved. Emerson Severo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
