An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Pereira in the 22nd minute of play forced Guaraçai Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Bonifacio Loi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bonifacio Loi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augusto Cavalcante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Tomás Berger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Wellington Charles made the kick off in the second half. When Jefferson Viana fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guaraçai Esporte Clube's protests and gave Jefferson Viana a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Jefferson Viana got a free kick in the 51st minute. Tomás Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wellington Charles, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Hílton Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Tony Mendes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st match minute, Recife Pe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hílton Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. 62 minutes into the game, Augusto Cavalcante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Tomás Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Wellington Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bonifacio Loi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelo Pereira in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Marcelo Pereira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bonifacio Loi. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcelo Pereira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Marcelo Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute, Lauro Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jefferson Viana hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Recife Pe's Ademar Prado got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 minutes, Breno Tinoco made it 2-3 with a short kick to the right side. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Bonifacio Loi tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Cabral during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Rômulo Cabral got a free kick in the 88th minute. Guaraçai Esporte Clube's Toninho Toscano got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bonifacio Loi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aírton da Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Recife Pe were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Guaraçai Esporte Clube's much stronger midfield.
