Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Hortêncio Catarinense got the match started through his kick off. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Reynaldo Souza was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Vlajko Marotić might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabrício Barros. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vlajko Marotić ran back to his position shaking his head. Rapid SA's Vlajko Marotić got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rômulo Carvalho took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabrício Barros. Fabrício Barros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Gil Prata received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Reynaldo Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Gil Prata slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 20th minute. Fabrício Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Carvalho in the 24th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Rômulo Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rapid SA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vlajko Marotić in the 34th minute of play. Fabrício Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rômulo Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 played minutes Basu EC got a freekick which was hit by Rômulo Travassos. Vlajko Marotić struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Fabrício Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rapid SA. Kiko Xavier hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Hortêncio Catarinense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynaldo Souza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. In the 47th minute of the match Basu EC got a corner. Rapid SA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kiko Xavier ran over to the corner to take the kick. Basu EC's Kiko Xavier was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Reynaldo Souza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.

The crowd rose to their feet as Rapid SA's Rômulo Carvalho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabrício Barros. That made the score 1-3 after 51 minutes of play. If Vlajko Marotić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Rapid SA's Víktor Barros got a free kick in the 56th minute. After 56 played minutes Rapid SA got a freekick which was hit by Víktor Barros. A hard shot 58 in the game by Vlajko Marotić from a close distance when the talented Fabrício Barros managed to make a qualified save. Basu EC's players were relieved. After some careless play in the Basu EC defense, Vlajko Marotić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabrício Barros. The Basu EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabrício Barros should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Basu EC's Rômulo Travassos got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Faouzi Fergani sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Fabrício Barros threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Faouzi Fergani this time. With a little luck, Basu EC's Fabrício Barros got control of the ball when Vlajko Marotić tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute, Rapid SA's Rômulo Carvalho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fabrício Barros. Fabrício Barros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. In the 76th match minute, Basu EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kiko Xavier to maneuver through the defense. Rapid SA's Eliézer de Senna was substituted for Rômulo Carvalho. The supporters of Rapid SA booed when Basu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kiko Xavier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabrício Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Acácio de Mendonça in the 79th minute of the match. Hortêncio Catarinense's late challenge caught a Rapid SA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hortêncio Catarinense helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes Basu EC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Catarinense. Gil Prata charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gil Prata the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rapid SA's Faouzi Fergani shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 84th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Fabrício Barros but with some difficulty. Basu EC's Gil Prata got his second yellow card of the match in the 85th minute. The referee ordered Gil Prata off the ground. A collision led to Basu EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Gil Prata hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Rapid SA's Fabrício Barros threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliézer de Senna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio de Mendonça in the 93rd minute of play forced Basu EC's goalkeeper Fabrício Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Eliézer de Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rapid SA's Alan Magalhães was substituted for Emiliano Distiratsu. Rapid SA's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
