Hortêncio Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlajko Marotić recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rapid SA's Reynaldo Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Catarinense in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute Rômulo Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabrício Barros made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Vlajko Marotić sent off a good shot on target. Reynaldo Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hortêncio Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. The wind increased when Hortêncio Catarinense made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rômulo Carvalho in the 58th minute of play forced Basu EC's goalkeeper Fabrício Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vlajko Marotić fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Barros having to interfere. Vlajko Marotić scored 2-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fabrício Barros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 76 minutes into the game, Basu EC's Hortêncio Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Souza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. If Vlajko Marotić had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute.
