If Gilberto Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Itoby's Dino Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilberto Ferreira in the 12th minute of play. Paulão Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Rafael Meireles made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Umber FC's goalkeeper Rafael Meireles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulão Vaz. Paulão Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Rafael Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilberto Ferreira in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dino Pereira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 33rd minute, Richard dos Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Itoby defense, Gilberto Ferreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dino Pereira. The Itoby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dino Pereira should have stopped the shot. Rafael Meireles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulão Vaz in the 41st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Gilberto Ferreira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Umber FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilberto Ferreira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dino Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gilberto Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Pereira having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Itoby's zone, Lucas Teixeira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dino Pereira came out of the goal and Lucas Teixeira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Erasmo Palmeira fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itoby's protests and gave Erasmo Palmeira a yellow card for diving instead. Erasmo Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Gilberto Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Lucas Teixeira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clóvis Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Umber FC booed when Itoby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Ferreira got free with Dino Pereira in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rafael Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulão Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute.
