In the 12th minute, Paulão Vaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rogério Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Palmeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Paulão Vaz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Bezerra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Itoby's Paulão Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rogério Bezerra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Palmeira in the 24th minute of play. Guaxinduva's Rogério Bezerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Vaz in the 25th minute of play. Faustão Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rogério Bezerra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erasmo Palmeira's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. Dino Pereira made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Artur Paraibano sent off a good shot on target. Itoby's Dino Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Paraibano in the 31st minute of play. Guaxinduva's Betinho Velloso got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, Faustão Sousa notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Itoby's Dino Pereira. Dino Pereira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Faustão Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Dino Pereira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Itoby getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Clóvis Baiano hit a great ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Artur Paraibano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guaxinduva's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Paraibano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artur Paraibano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Itoby's Dino Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Sousa in the 53rd minute of play. Paulão Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Rogério Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Artur Paraibano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Erasmo Palmeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Paulão Vaz came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Itoby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Vaz couldn't finish the play. During the 74th minute of the match Clóvis Baiano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Clóvis Baiano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Clóvis Baiano kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Itoby's Dino Pereira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Sousa in the 77th minute of play. Faustão Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 87 in the game by Paulão Vaz from a close distance when the talented Rogério Bezerra managed to make a qualified save. Guaxinduva's players were relieved.
