Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Hortêncio Catarinense took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes Basu EC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Catarinense. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Vaz in the 4th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Donato hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Dino Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Xavier in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Itoby booed when Basu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Palmeira in the 11th minute of play. If Paulão Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Eugênio Netto put in a rough tackle. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Basu EC! Fabrício Barros came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Itoby's Richard dos Santos. But to his dismay, Richard dos Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Fabrício Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erasmo Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Richard dos Santos's late challenge caught a Basu EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard dos Santos helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Itoby's Richard dos Santos got a free kick in the 26th minute. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Vaz in the 30th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Albertinho Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Basu EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertinho Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dino Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Fernando Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard dos Santos in the 39th minute of play forced Basu EC's goalkeeper Fabrício Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Basu EC defense, Paulão Vaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabrício Barros. The Basu EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabrício Barros should have stopped the shot. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Palmeira in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Basu EC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Amadeu Dante hit a great ball. Sílvio Pena got in the 56th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Fabrício Barros. This was a shot which ended in a score of 0-5. Gil Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dino Pereira having to interfere. 64 minutes into the game, Carlos Eduardo Donato threw the ball into play from the sideline. Basu EC's Fernando Maranhense quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Amadeu Dante's late challenge caught a Itoby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Amadeu Dante helped the player get up and apologised. Amadeu Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. A hard shot 69 in the game by Paulão Vaz from a close distance when the talented Fabrício Barros managed to make a qualified save. Basu EC's players were relieved. Basu EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clóvis Baiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Fabrício Barros came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Itoby's Paulão Vaz. But to his dismay, Paulão Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Paulão Vaz came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabrício Barros could save by the left post. When Gil Prata came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Basu EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Prata couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the match, Basu EC's goalkeeper Fabrício Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulão Vaz. Itoby's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
