Gil Moreno hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Waldir Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Guaxinduva defense, Caetano Furlan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogério Bezerra. The Guaxinduva fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogério Bezerra should have stopped the shot. After 20 minutes, Eugênio Branco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaxinduva and the Mojutapera players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 24 minutes, Caetano Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mojutapera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Furlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juninho Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute Diguinho Branco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Bezerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Guaxinduva players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mojutapera were winning 0-2.
Betinho Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agostinho Macedo having to interfere. After some careless play in the Mojutapera defense, Faustão Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Agostinho Macedo. The Mojutapera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Agostinho Macedo should have stopped the shot. After having played for 68 minutes, Caetano Furlan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mojutapera's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caetano Furlan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Faustão Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Agostinho Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Roberto Amorim made in the 79th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Mojutapera's Waldir Lago. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mojutapera walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
