After a rather tough play, Maia FC's Hermínio França got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The audience was convinced that Wilton Rocha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexsandro Maciel was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Oliver Bierhoff's late challenge caught a Maia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oliver Bierhoff helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, SWORD ART was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Bierhoff to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SWORD ART's zone, Hermínio França stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexsandro Maciel came out of the goal and Hermínio França tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Wilton Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Tony Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 15 minutes into the game, Ezequiel Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SWORD ART's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maia FC the free kick. After 15 played minutes SWORD ART got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Amorim. Wilton Rochas short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Alexsandro Maciel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tony Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Raúl Furtado in the 22nd minute really tested Alexsandro Maciel's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Wilton Rocha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Alexsandro Maciel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alexsandro Maciel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilton Rocha's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. With his leg Alexsandro Maciel managed to avoid a goal in the 28thth minute, when Maia FC's Wilton Rocha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Maia FC's Tony Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raúl Furtado hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. With a little luck, SWORD ART's Alexsandro Maciel got control of the ball when Hermínio França tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ezequiel Amorim hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Fábio Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilberto Matos in the 43rd minute of play. In the last second Alexsandro Maciel throw himself and got hold of the ball when Wilton Rocha in the 47thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After 48 minutes SWORD ART's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tony Ribeiro who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Maia FC's Wilton Rocha getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilton Rocha was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Wilton Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilton Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexsandro Maciel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Maia FC fans' excitement grew in the 56th match minute when Maia FC's Wilton Rocha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wilton Rocha in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexsandro Maciel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilton Rocha struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Alexsandro Maciel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maia FC. Hermínio França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute, Wilton Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute, Wilton Rocha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexsandro Maciel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The Maia FC fans' excitement grew in the 75th match minute when Maia FC's Wilton Rocha looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. During the 85th minute of the match Ezequiel Amorim completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ezequiel Amorim a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Wilton Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexsandro Maciel having to interfere. If Tony Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Wilton Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 97 minutes into the match, Maia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Matos came free, but Fábio Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alexsandro Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Rocha in the 98th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Maia FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
