After 10 played minutes Warnow got a freekick which was hit by Edinho Mazza. In the 11th minute, Luisão Tepedino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséas Cearense was a little too slow when Bo-Erik Lidberg got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. Duarte de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Zé Carlos Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Cearense having to interfere. The supporters of Escorpios F. C. booed when Warnow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Escorpios F. C.'s LeBron James shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Oséas Cearense but with some difficulty. Zé Carlos Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Cearense having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Escorpios F. C.'s Zé Carlos Fernandez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oséas Cearense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrão Coelho in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Oséas Cearense saved Warnow from getting behind. If Zé Carlos Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Escorpios F. C. booed when Warnow was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Munhoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Duarte de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Dante in the 63rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Fernandez in the 64th minute of play forced Warnow's goalkeeper Oséas Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.'s corner Juninho das Neves fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Oséas Cearense quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Escorpios F. C.'s André Sarmento got a free kick in the 67th minute. Zé Carlos Fernandez might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oséas Cearense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Carlos Fernandez ran back to his position shaking his head. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 87 minutes into the match, Warnow's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Fernandez came free, but Oséas Cearense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrão Coelho struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Oséas Cearense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Escorpios F. C.. The audience was convinced that Pedrão Coelho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oséas Cearense was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Oséas Cearense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedrão Coelho's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Warnow players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Escorpios F. C..
