Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Neves couldn't finish the play. Joel Guedes charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Guedes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Better Call Saul getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Joel Guedes hit a great ball. In the 11th minute, Virgílio Gomes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Pedro Neto. The goal made the score 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei Barros during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 13th minute, Dinei Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cauã Netto in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Acácio Catarinense saved União da Mata from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, União da Mata's goal looked a bit too open when Cauã Netto came free, but Acácio Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, one of Better Call Saul:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Better Call Saul. The goalkeeper, José Pedro Neto, was totally fooled by União da Mata's Cipriano Ferreira, who 23 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 26th minute Cauã Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Pedro Neto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Douglas Catarinense in the 28th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cauã Netto in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Acácio Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Acácio Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Netto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cauã Netto took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Acácio Catarinense. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
