The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Diogo Lima acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luizão Azevedo. Araguaia Sport Clube's Luizão Azevedo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Diogo Lima but with some difficulty. Jorginho de Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Diogo Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jorginho de Castro got free with Diogo Lima in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Ademir Lira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Araguaia Sport Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Luizão Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Jorginho de Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Lima having to interfere. Araguaia Sport Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Benjamin das Neves in the 32nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Benjamin das Neves got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Diogo Lima quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. If Diogo Nóbrega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ademir Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araguaia Sport Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademir Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diogo Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jorginho de Castro was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute, Jorginho de Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Ademir Lira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Araguaia Sport Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademir Lira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 65 minutes, Adriano Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verdão Soccer Club and the Araguaia Sport Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 65th match minute, Verdão Soccer Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Saraiva to maneuver through the defense. Romeu Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Adriano Saraiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the referee ended the match the Araguaia Sport Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
