Tadeu de Senna hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Caio Prado's Erasmo Azevedo got control of the ball when Dedê Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 17 minutes into the game, when Tiago Mangueira put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, Caio Prado's Ricardo Palmeira got a free kick in the 39th minute. A collision led to Caio Prado getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Iuri Salgado hit a great ball. Dedê Pinho's late challenge caught a Caio Prado's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dedê Pinho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th minute, Dedê Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Caio Prado's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
