Lamina's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Umberto Carneiro scored to the left of an out of position Reinaldo Meireles, making the score, 1-0. After 8 played minutes Galaxy Team got a freekick which was hit by Róbson Porto. After 11 played minutes, Galaxy Team's Inácio Fantini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Reinaldo Meireles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Galaxy Team reached it. Luiz Gustavo Ramalho scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benê Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Lamina's zone, Umberto Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Meireles came out of the goal and Umberto Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Galaxy Team's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Gustavo Ramalho came free, but Benê Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Umberto Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Umberto Carneiro to make the kick off. Reinaldo Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Umberto Carneiro made a precise shot to the right of Reinaldo Meireles. Lamina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The supporters of Lamina booed when Galaxy Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitinho Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lamina's zone, Wilson Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Meireles came out of the goal and Wilson Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Umberto Carneiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Reinaldo Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Osvaldinho Zanette during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lamina's Reinaldo Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Umberto Carneiro in the 78th minute of play. Wellington Cosme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Gustavo Ramalho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benê Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Galaxy Team's goalkeeper Benê Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wellington Cosme. Armandinho Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Galaxy Team's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
