Celso Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Narciso Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Sá having to interfere. Emerson Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Loyola, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Álvaro Loyola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente Lara during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Sampa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Lara to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Sampa FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. João Pedro Paiva hit a great ball. Washington Esteves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emerson Sá. Sampa FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 29 minutes, Celso Godoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube FR's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celso Godoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emerson Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Álvaro Loyola's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Celso Godoi might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Emerson Sá. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celso Godoi ran back to his position shaking his head. Emerson Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Godoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Celso Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 49 minutes into the match, Celso Godoi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emerson Sá. Sampa FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Godoi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Emerson Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Godoi in the 56th minute of play. Álvaro Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Sá having to interfere. Diamantino Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diamantino Paiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 61 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sampa FC! When the match had been going on for 62 minutes, Esporte Clube FR's Washington Esteves got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Emerson Sá. If Celso Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When João Pedro Paiva was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 70 minutes had been played. In the 72nd minute of the match Washington Esteves sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emerson Sá skillfully saved the ball. Álvaro Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celso Godoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emerson Sá made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Álvaro Loyola sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Sampa FC's Vicente Lara got a free kick in the 88th minute. Álvaro Loyola struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Emerson Sá didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esporte Clube FR. Celso Godoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Sá having to interfere. Emerson Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Godoi in the 94th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 97th minute by Álvaro Loyola got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Godoi in the 98th minute of play forced Sampa FC's goalkeeper Emerson Sá to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 99th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sampa FC's goalkeeper Emerson Sá, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esporte Clube FR's Celso Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 101st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Esporte Clube FR left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sampa FC.
