Elói Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Sampaio in the 30th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Ruy Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denílson Sampaio took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denílson Catarinense. Denílson Catarinense dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 38th minute, Elói Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denílson Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from A.J. 夏侯惇 in the 41st minute of play. Denílson Catarinense came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Newtown EC's Denílson Sampaio. But to his dismay, Denílson Sampaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After the first half Newtown EC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Karavela's Jorge Silveira got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Acácio Linares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Denílson Sampaio got free with Denílson Catarinense in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd match minute, Karavela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Denílson Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Acácio Linares, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 68 minutes into the match, José Carlos Galvan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Denílson Catarinense, 1-3. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Denílson Sampaio took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Denílson Catarinense to make any attempt to save it. A.J. 夏侯惇 in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Denílson Catarinense, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Denílson Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Sampaio in the 79th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Karavela's zone, José Carlos Galvan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Catarinense came out of the goal and José Carlos Galvan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute Denílson Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Newtown EC's zone, Dino Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Seco came out of the goal and Dino Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 87 played minutes Newtown EC got a freekick which was hit by Jefferson Amorim. Denílson Sampaio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Denílson Catarinense made a huge save. Newtown EC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
