Denílson Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Telmo Mesquita in the 14th minute of the match. Denílson Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Sandro Dias sent off a good shot on target. After 17 minutes of play, Campos do Jordão's Sandro Dias made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Denílson Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dino Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandro Dias went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 38 minutes into the match, Edgard Motta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Denílson Catarinense. Karavela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Motta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 42 minutes into the match, Karavela's goal looked a bit too open when Telmo Mesquita came free, but Denílson Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandro Dias received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Denílson Catarinense came out and tried to block the shot, but Sandro Dias slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 44th minute. An unexpected shot in the 48th minute by Telmo Mesquita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
