The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Jonathan Alves came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Campestre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Alves couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, one of Campestre:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Campestre. The referee gave Lazio a penalty, 8 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Felippe Varela, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Campestre's Falcão Goiano. 1-0. When Felippe Varela came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Lazio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felippe Varela couldn't finish the play. Maurício Loureiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute Jonathan Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurício Loureiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felippe Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Falcão Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Falcão Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Varela in the 46th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, Rui Arruda was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Campestre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lazio the free kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Felippe Varela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Felippe Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Falcão Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Varela in the 65th minute of play. Ademir Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 71 minutes, João Carlos Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Campestre and the Lazio players grew even worse after the yellow card. 73 minutes into the match, Felippe Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Falcão Goiano. Campestre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felippe Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 77th minute, Matheus Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Noel Neves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Maurício Loureiro skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Felippe Varela recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felippe Varela scored 3-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Falcão Goiano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Falcão Goiano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felippe Varela's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Noel Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurício Loureiro. Lazio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Noel Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Falcão Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felippe Varela, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Yao Yi Chao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sílvio Luís do Vale hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match. Lazio walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
