In the 14th minute Pere Beloki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelius Korth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Horácio Santos fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Athletic Warszaw's protests and gave Horácio Santos a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Red Skulls's Erman Metiner got control of the ball when Nesto Aguilar tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Red Skulls defense, Horácio Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erman Metiner. The Red Skulls fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erman Metiner should have stopped the shot. In the 36th minute Nando Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelius Korth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornelius Korth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nando Donatello's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Red Skulls's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pere Beloki in the 37th minute. After taking down the ball on Red Skulls's corner Pere Beloki fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cornelius Korth quite easily take care of the ball. Red Skulls's Erman Metiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nesto Aguilar in the 41st minute of play. If Horácio Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nesto Aguilar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erman Metiner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Club Athletic Warszaw's goal looked a bit too open when Nando Donatello came free, but Cornelius Korth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Cornelius Korth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nando Donatello in the 51st minute. The supporters of Club Athletic Warszaw booed when Red Skulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Acácio Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Club Athletic Warszaw's zone, Pere Beloki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelius Korth came out of the goal and Pere Beloki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Horácio Santos came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Club Athletic Warszaw fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horácio Santos couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Alan Botelho put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Athletic Warszaw fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! Pere Beloki placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Horácio Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erman Metiner. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Horácio Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. 69 minutes into the game, Club Athletic Warszaw's Horácio Santos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erman Metiner came out of the goal and Horácio Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olavo Sergipano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Erman Metiner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nesto Aguilar's late challenge caught a Red Skulls's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nesto Aguilar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Club Athletic Warszaw was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nesto Aguilar to maneuver through the defense. When Pere Beloki fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Skulls's protests and gave Frank Bello a yellow card for diving instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Club Athletic Warszaw had won after a very even match.
