Róbson Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Red Skulls got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Teixeira. In the 17th minute Nando Donatello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabinho Netto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabinho Netto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pere Beloki in the 19th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dario Palos in the 21st minute of play forced Red Skulls's goalkeeper Erman Metiner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. União Lokomotiva FC's Cássio Goiano shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Erman Metiner but with some difficulty. Erman Metiner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Palos, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Rafinha Vidal charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafinha Vidal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Red Skulls's Rafinha Vidal got a free kick in the 29th minute. Red Skulls's Erman Metiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Palos in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of União Lokomotiva FC booed when Red Skulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Cássio Goiano in the 33rd minute really tested Erman Metiner's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some careless play in the União Lokomotiva FC defense, Pere Beloki kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fabinho Netto. The União Lokomotiva FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabinho Netto should have stopped the shot. Erman Metiner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Fabinho Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pere Beloki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 played minutes União Lokomotiva FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Lira. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Nando Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabinho Netto having to interfere. Red Skulls's Erman Metiner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Palos in the 56th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 57 minutes, Dario Palos put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Erman Metiner. Acácio Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Fabinho Netto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Red Skulls's Pere Beloki got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nando Donatello's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fabinho Netto firmly grabbed it by the left post. Nando Donatello received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabinho Netto came out and tried to block the shot, but Nando Donatello slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 72nd minute. Nando Donatello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Fabinho Netto made a huge save. A collision led to Red Skulls getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Pere Beloki hit a great ball. Nando Donatello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabinho Netto having to make a save. Erman Metiner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dario Palos's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, Dário Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute, Geraldo Lopes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
