Elias Pombal came out of the goal and Edmílson Quadros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute Willian Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benedito Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Elias Pombal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Paulo Peixoto's late challenge caught a Paxiubinha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zé Paulo Peixoto helped the player get up and apologised. Zé Paulo Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. In the 99th minute, Benedito Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paxiubinha's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
