The corner led I p a u s s u e n s s e's Guto Dantas to fire away a dangerous shot which Roger de Castro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Paragua SS's Paulão Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulão Lara in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Sílvio Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 26 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Rafinha Paraíba came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Ivar Hellbom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Roger de Castro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. When Régis Koehler fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Roger de Castro made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Ivar Hellbom sent off a good shot on target. 43 minutes into the game, Paragua SS's Rafinha Paraíba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonel Teixeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Leonel Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Paraíba, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The I p a u s s u e n s s e players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Paragua SS were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ivar Hellbom made a kick off. Ivar Hellbom recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Paragua SS getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Paulão Lara hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Ivar Hellbom's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roger de Castro was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Guto Dantas hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivar Hellbom in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger de Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulão Lara in the 79th minute of play. After 82 played minutes Paragua SS got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Prado. Leonel Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 88 minutes into the match, I p a u s s u e n s s e's goal looked a bit too open when Paulão Lara came free, but Leonel Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The I p a u s s u e n s s e supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Paragua SS's performance. The match ended with a win for Paragua SS.
