The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Maranhense got free with Leonel Teixeira in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ulysses Meira to make the kick off. Leonel Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernesto Toscano in the 53rd minute of play. But to his dismay, Ulysses Meira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. If Breno Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. I p a u s s u e n s s e's Leonel Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breno Cerezo in the 68th minute of play. Leonel Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulysses Meira in the 75th minute of play forced I p a u s s u e n s s e's goalkeeper Leonel Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Buritirama's Sydney Passos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jeremias Vinhas in the 77 minute of the game. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 92nd minute, Faustão Trigo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, I p a u s s u e n s s e's Mazinho Vianna got a free kick in the 95th minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Buritirama fully deserved thier win.
